Money matters

A student sits in the front of an inflatable boat that cruises next to an island or coastline on a bright, calm day on the water.

We recognize that graduate studies can be a financially challenging endeavour to undertake and are here to assist you in finding ways to cover your costs. You can explore program costs, University funding options, major external scholarship opportunities, and other external opportunities.

Research undertaken by graduate students is an integral part of the research mosaic at Acadia, and a particularly important piece of that is an opportunity to present your work to a wider professional audience. We support this through Graduate Studies by offering conference funding support.

There are also Provincial or Canadian student loans options: please refer to the provincial/federal website. Each province has their own website. Please visit our Financial Aid Office website for further details.

Through our Financial Aid Office, you will be provided with assistance with loan applications, program information forms and answers to general student loan questions.

Also in the Fall (September of each year) our Financial Aid Offfice will forward an email to students with two applications to complete for opportunities to receive additional scholarships, awards and bursaries. While there is no guarantee a student will receive funding, all students are encouraged to complete the applications. There will be a deadline to apply by. The first application is for everyone to complete and includes sections for students to describe their sports involvement, extra-curriculars, leadership/volunteer work, academic achievements, etc. The second application is for students who have student loans and all International Students.

Students are also strongly encouraged to review the list of external scholarships listed on the Financial Aid website.
